Anabel represents clients in all aspects of employment-based immigration matters, both immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions. Her practice includes the handling of H-1B, L-1, E-2, O-1, and TN nonimmigrant petitions, as well as multinational manager, PERM, NIW, and EB-1 immigrant petitions. She also has extensive experience in family-based immigration and naturalization matters.

Anabel represents clients in a wide range of industries, including tech, investment banking, public relations, and freight logistics services, to name a few. Her clients range from individual entrepreneurs to large multi-national corporations. In her capacity representing large multi-national corporations, Anabel also manages global immigration programs to non-US countries, including Ireland, Australia, and Turkey.

Anabel’s reputation within the firm is one of great expertise and leaving no stone unturned to help her clients pursue their goals. Anabel has led the firm’s efforts to file federal lawsuits against U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the U.S. Department of State, most recently due to unreasonable delays by these two government agencies.

Examples of Anabel’s successful cases include:

  • Mandamus litigation against the U.S. Department of State after a consulate refused to issue a client’s visa and retained his passport for over 6 months.
  • Waiver of the J-1 exchange visitor two-year home-country physical presence requirement based on exceptional hardship to a U.S. citizen child of an exchange visitor.
  • E-2 visa for founder of new rideshare company who used the development of his rideshare app abroad for his investment in the United States.

Anabel earned her Juris Doctor from American University in Washington, DC and her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. Go Gators! She is licensed to practice law in Florida and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska. Anabel is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Prior to joining Meltzer Hellrung LLC, Anabel worked at a boutique immigration law firm in Miami, FL and a mid-size immigration law firm in Washington, DC.

Born in Cuba and raised in Florida, Anabel is fluent in Spanish.
