Ava represents clients in employment-based immigration matters, both immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions. Her practice includes the handling of H-1B, TN, and E-3 nonimmigrant petitions, as well as PERM green cards and naturalization. Ava represents clients in all industries, though has particular experience with the IT consulting industry.
Examples of Ava’s successful cases include:
- Securing H-1B approvals following complex Requests for Evidence, including challenges on grounds of specialty occupation, beneficiary qualifications, beneficiary maintenance of F-1 and H-1B status, and petitioner fee requirements.
- Fixing H-4 dependents’ accidental overstay of I-94 expiration dates, achieving retroactive approval of status with no gaps.
- Winning approval of a TN visa for the heavily-scrutinized position of Management Consultant, overcoming two Requests for Evidence.
Ava excels at easing the complexities of the immigration system and in providing thorough, thoughtful, and caring support to clients. She is also actively involved in pro bono work, further enhancing Meltzer Hellrung’s ability to serve a diverse range of clients.
Ava earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in Ann Arbor, MI, her Master’s from the University of Michigan, and her Bachelor’s from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
