Implementation of New Parole Fee – Notices Issued to Foreign Nationals

USCIS began collecting a new $1000 parole fee on October 16, 2025, as authorized by the Big Beautiful Bill Act. However, the fee does not apply to all individuals who have parole, or even parole authorization. With the implementation of the new fee, USCIS is sending notices to all individuals who have been granted parole or have entered on parole.

Importantly for Meltzer Hellrung clients, individuals who have parole based on pending adjustment of status (pending green card applications) are exempt from the fee.

However, the fee does apply to individuals with parole through DACA, TPS, pending asylum petitions, and entrepreneur parole.

If you have a pending adjustment of status application and receive a notice from USCIS about the parole fee, absolutely no action is required.

If you have parole through another category, please reach out to your Meltzer Hellrung attorney for further guidance.
