Meltzer Hellrung helps businesses in a variety of industries arrange visas and work permits for their employees to work in Spain. We have a detailed understanding of the country’s immigration laws and requirements, and our strategic, personalized approach to client needs ensures that the chosen solutions are both appropriate and legally compliant.

Citizens of EU countries do not need a visa to live and work in Spain. For foreign nationals from non-EU countries, there are several routes for legal immigration with the right to work.

Temporary work permit: This option is appropriate for foreign nationals working for a specific Spanish employer and has a maximum duration of one year.

Highly skilled professionals: Foreign nationals who have a job offer from a Spanish employer and meet eligibility requirements related to their abilities and salary level may qualify for a work permit. These individuals may also qualify for a permit under the European Blue Card program.

Intra-company transfer: Spain offers work permits to foreign nationals moving the country to work for a Spanish branch of a multinational company or for a Spanish company that has a partnership or agreement with a foreign business.

Self-employed work permit: Non-EU citizens who freelance or own their own business may qualify for this option but must show evidence of qualifications and sufficient financial resources.

Entrepreneur visa: This visa is open to foreign nationals who wish to begin a project or company in Spain that will benefit the country’s economy.

Investor visa: Also known as the “golden visa,” this option is for foreign nationals able to make a significant investment in real estate, business, banking, or public debt.  The investor visa can also cover spouses and dependent family members. It enables holders to secure a residence permit, which can eventually be renewed indefinitely as long as the investment is maintained.
