The State Department is expected to issue a formal notice in the Federal Register for the Pilot Program to Resume Renewal of H-1B Nonimmigrant Visas.

The full details will not be available until the notice is published in the Federal Register, but it is expected that the rollout will reduce the number of individuals who are stranded abroad while awaiting their visa stamping.

This pilot program will be limited to test out the stateside visa renewal program. If this pilot program works well, the Department of State has expressed interest in rolling out an expanded program once all the operational issues have been worked out.
