Kellen has been an immigration attorney for more than a decade, representing for-profit businesses, universities, and individuals. He is a go-to resource in PERM and H-1B’s for founders.

Kellen has represented some of the largest companies in the world, running the PERM program for two of them. He has helped several companies manage the immigration impact of mergers, acquisitions, and sales. He has integrated programs from different companies into a single program that met the needs of the newly formed company.

Some notable successes:

• In 2024, Kellen helped a founder get an H-1B with no board and no other employees.
• In 2020, Kellen managed a reverse successor-in-interest I-140, where the employee’s PERM entity was sold but the individual employee was retained by the holding company for future ventures.
• Successful filing of EB-1’s and O-1’s for the founding members of Fleksy, a keyboard app for phones.
• Won an important FOIA lawsuit against USCIS.
• Created and managed a strategy to keep one of the largest PERM programs in the world from being investigated by the DOJ and DOL at a time when several of competitors were being sued over their PERM programs.

Before Meltzer Hellrung, Kellen worked at BAL, Fragomen, University of Texas at Arlington, and several boutique immigration firms. Before becoming a lawyer Kellen served 10 years in the Army.
