Álvaro possesses broad experience in immigration law, encompassing employment-based, family-based, and humanitarian matters. His passion for the field stems from personally experiencing the challenges of navigating the U.S. immigration process.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and worked as a paralegal and senior paralegal at various immigration firms, including Meltzer Hellrung. Álvaro then pursued his Juris Doctor at DePaul University College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

During law school, Álvaro served on the DePaul Law Review, where his article was selected for publication. He earned three CALI Excellence for the Future Awards® for achieving the highest grade in Legal Research and Writing, as well as additional awards in Civil Procedure and Constitutional Law. Dedicated to supporting the immigrant community, Álvaro was an active member of the Latinx Law Student Association and participated in the Asylum & Immigration Law Clinic.

Álvaro’s professional experience includes preparing and drafting nonimmigrant petitions (H-1B, H-1B1, L-1, TN, E-3, O-1), immigrant visa petitions (I-140, EB-1, I-485, I-485J, N-400), and PERM labor certification applications. He has also handled humanitarian cases, including asylum and U visa petitions. Among his most rewarding experiences was helping the undocumented mother of a U.S.-born Army National Guard member obtain parole in place, allowing her to remain in the United States, obtain work authorization, and avoid removal proceedings.
