About Voyager
We launched our proprietary immigration platform Voyager in April 2022. Voyager transforms the way Meltzer Hellrung operates by replacing commercially available tools for interacting with clients and serves as our operating system. The platform collects information from companies and foreign employees, manages internal workflow, tracks active application processes, and serves as a repository of immigration documentation.
Meltzer Hellrung seeks as Immigration Specialist who is detail oriented and organized and provides client-side support for corporate immigration programs. As a Immigration Specialist, you will utilize your existing employment-based immigration experience to partner with internal legal teams and provide account management services to assigned clients and provide onsite support.

 

Immigration Specialist (Serving as POC) Job Description
● We are looking for a detail oriented and organized Immigration Specialist to provide client-side support for corporate immigration programs.
● The candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including data entry, maintenance of records, managing immigration inquiries, and providing general administrative support
● This role requires someone who can handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with team members and clients
● The candidate will collaborate with MH immigration attorneys to provide guidance to HRBPs, recruiters and other business stakeholders on visa processing times, sponsorship requirements, associated risks, and costs for potential candidates.
● Strong understanding of the immigration landscape with the ability to tie in business context in order to focus on process optimization, helping us scale the client’s immigration process;
● Communicate with recruiters, hiring managers, and employees on immigration issues/benefits
● Supporting the foreign national population with an overview of upcoming visa processes (NIV and IV/PR);
● Serve as a resource to the employee population for immigration matters through various methods of communication in order to foster a best in class experience;
● Support the preparation of NIV petitions and responses to Requests for Evidence; gather documents from applicants; review and check for accuracy
● Support the PERM process by working with internal stakeholders to finalize sponsorship details and requirements; and working with employees to ensure qualification and the ability to obtain the necessary work experience letters.
● Work with internal stakeholders to obtain business approval on expenses, case initiations, exceptions of immigration sponsorship policy, etc.
● Maintain internal immigration compliance, such as notice of filing or internal postings, I-9 compliance, employee termination process, etc.
● Facilitate assessments of applicants’ eligibility for various visas and work permits with MH counsel.
● Maintain and review client’s internal visa tracker, if any.
● Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of immigration laws and policies, staying up-to-date with any changes.
● General administrative duties as needed

 

Qualifications
● 3-5 years of direct immigration experience working on PERM and H-1B cases. Prior experience must include experience working in a corporate setting within the employee benefits, global mobility or human resources department. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of immigration laws and policies and be able to help clients navigate complex immigration processes.
● Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently and under tight deadlines
● Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
